Private Shibari Sessions & Tuition

Artist-led, one-to-one Shibari and Kinbaku sessions with Dan Carabas, focused on emotional connection, aesthetics, and embodied rope practice in Berlin-Mitte.

Artist-Led Shibari Practice

I approach Shibari as a living practice rather than a fixed technique. When I teach or practice, the focus is on intimacy, presence, and meaningful communication through the rope, allowing the experience to unfold in a conscious and connected way.

For me, the essence of Shibari lies in the relationship between aesthetic expression and emotional as well as sensual intention. Rope becomes a way to respond to the body, to hold and stabilise emotional states, creating a position that allows sensations and feelings to surface and settle. By adding ropes, we give form and continuity to that moment, so it can be experienced more clearly and consciously.

My style is minimalistic, mostly floor-based, and guided by breath and presence. Working close to the body allows every rope to have a clear purpose, to shape, transform, and create sensation, so the tying evolves as an intimate, organic process rather than a fixed design.

Private Shibari Tuition in Berlin – FAQ

A woman in lingerie with her hands and ankles bound by rope, kneeling on the floor while a man in black kneels behind her, holding her wrist and rope, in a dimly lit room.

`The missing glue that brought everything together.’

I booked a private Shibari tuition with my partner as the model. I already had some rope experience and had attended beginner workshops, but my intention was to bring everything together and deepen flow and connection.

What Dan showed us went far beyond our expectations. My partner felt truly held by the ropes, both physically and emotionally, and our connection deepened throughout the session. Dan provided the missing glue that finally made everything make sense.

For the first time, we experienced rope from a new perspective, slow, body-focused, and deeply intimate.

Private Shibari sessions are intentionally limited, allowing for focus, depth, and a truly personal experience.

  • You have basic or intermediate experience and want depth, integration, and flow

  • You are interested in embodiment, connection, and presence, not just technique

  • You and your partner want a guided, intimate, and safe private setting

  • You are curious about the intersection of Shibari, Tantra, and conscious presence

  • You value an artist-led approach rather than a purely instructional format

If this resonates with you, the next step is a short email.

Every session begins with a conversation. I ask one question: What are you curious to feel? Maybe stillness. Pressure and release. Surrender. Sensuality. Or something you cannot yet put into words. From there, the session is created with you, not done to you, your breath, movement and responses shape what happens next, and there is always time to pause or change direction. We close with quiet time to land before you step back into the city.

The space

Step off the street and the noise falls away. A quiet, Japanese-inspired studio with original tatami mats, candlelight, warm shadows and a carefully composed soundscape. In a city that never truly slows down, the rarest luxury is not more time. It is presence.
