CANCELLATION & BOOKING POLICY
Shibari Studio Berlin

This page has two parts. Part A is our booking and cancellation policy for workshops, events and sessions. Part B is the statutory right of withdrawal that applies to consumers for physical goods and digital content. Full contract terms are in our Terms & Conditions.

Part A — Cancellation & Booking Policy (workshops, events & sessions)

We are committed to creating a safer, respectful, and well-prepared environment for every participant. Because our group workshops require significant planning, space coordination, and have very limited spots, we ask that you please honour the following cancellation policy.

Cancellation deadlines:

  • 14+ days before the workshop: full refund minus a €20 administrative fee.

  • 7–13 days before: 50% of the workshop fee is refundable.

  • Less than 7 days before: no refund, unless your spot can be filled from the waitlist.

  • Transfers & substitutions: You may transfer your spot to another participant at no additional charge. Please notify us by email at least 24 hours before the event. If the workshop has a waiting list and we can fill your spot, you may be eligible for a partial refund (minus admin fee).

  • Non-attendance / no-show: If you do not attend the workshop and have not informed us in advance, no refund or credit will be issued.

  • Workshop cancellation by us: In the rare case that we must cancel or reschedule the workshop (e.g. due to illness, venue issues, or insufficient registrations), you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future date.

  • How to cancel or transfer: Email: info@shibari-studio.com. Please include your full name, booking reference (if applicable), and whether you're requesting a cancellation or transfer.

Additional notes:

  • If you're experiencing illness or a personal emergency, we encourage open communication — we're happy to work with you where possible.

  • Refunds are typically processed within 7–10 business days.

  • Workshops, events and dated sessions are leisure services tied to a specific date. The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to them (§ 312g (2) no. 9 German Civil Code); the terms above apply instead.

Part B — Right of Withdrawal (physical goods & digital content)

This part applies to consumers who purchase physical goods (e.g. ropes, tools) or digital content (e.g. online courses) through our shop.

Right of withdrawal:

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is 14 days from: for physical goods: the day on which you, or a third party named by you other than the carrier, take possession of the goods; for contracts for digital content not supplied on a physical medium (e.g. online courses, downloads): the day of conclusion of the contract.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us —Dan Carabas / Shibari Studio Berlin, Hannoversche Str. 19A, 10115 Berlin, Germany, email: info@shibari-studio.com— by a clear statement (e.g. a letter or email) of your decision to withdraw. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send your communication before the withdrawal period expires.

Effects of withdrawal: If you withdraw, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs (except supplementary costs arising from your choice of a delivery type other than the least expensive standard delivery we offer), without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision. We use the same means of payment you used originally, unless expressly agreed otherwise; you incur no fees for the reimbursement. For goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied proof of return, whichever is earliest. You must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day you communicate your withdrawal; you bear the direct cost of return. You are only liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Early expiry / exclusions: The right of withdrawal expires early or does not apply for:

Online courses / digital content — expires once we begin performance, provided you (1) expressly consented to us beginning before the end of the withdrawal period and (2) acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. You give both confirmations at checkout.

Sealed goods unsuitable for return for reasons of health or hygiene, if unsealed after delivery, and goods made to your individual specification.

Workshops, events and dated sessions — see Part A above.
